The Old Colonial Cookie Company began making Butterfingers Shortbread based on traditional Scottish recipes back in 1981. Set in the picturesque Yarra Valley Ranges of Victoria, our Australian-owned and operated company creates a local shortbread that’s popular all over the world. It’s as pure as the place from which it comes.
We love our beautiful country and are committed to best practice processes that reduce our footprint on the environment and still produce the best Australian shortbread.
Our quality shortbread products are made from natural ingredients sourced within Australia. There are no preservatives, artificial colourings or flavours used in our production processes and the products are GMO free. We simply use the finest flour, butter and sugar to make a natural indulgence we can all enjoy.
All our products are suitable for vegetarians.
People seeking gluten-free products can rest assured that our Gluten Free Shortbread range is laboratory tested outside our premises before being released for sale to ensure a “none detected” result.
Packaging and waste
It’s important to us that we recycle whenever possible. Our packaging components are all recyclable and we recycle the paper and cardboard packaging from our suppliers. The cardboard shipping cartons are also made from recycled paper.
Certification and approvals
Our production facility operates under an HACCP Food Safety program, which encompasses the international-recognised SQF level. Most of our products are also Kosher and Halal approved.
